MUSE: Shooting Ophelia

Over a year ago, Niki and I started looking at John Everett Millais’ painting “Ophelia” from circa 1851. We weren’t clear on a location for the shoot, but as part of the Muse series, we were especially drawn to  Millais’ depiction of graceful femininity in a natural setting.

Trusting the process as we do, several months ago I became acquainted with someone whose Japanese garden and Victorian house were the ideal setting for the shoot. We recently set up shop and continued our collaboration. Below are images documenting the photo shooting process.
